Another close colleague of Reinhardt, the chief of the international correspondents, Christiane Amanpour, said that surely CNN hasn't been where is right now if it wasn't for his ideas and strong initiatives. For almost 20 years, Burt Reinhardt assured that his own ideas of the television news were functioning and the people's feedback was translated in new directions for CNN. From 1983 until 1990, Reinhardt was the President for CNN. After that he was the vice-president of the whole organization and eleven years ago he retired from television business because of his health problems. His nephew, Harlan Reinhardt, sees him as the most influent people from the news television. The colleague Amanpour added that the key moments for CNN were speculated by Reinhardt and the courage to bring into attention a news channel that was long dead for others was his big talent. The first president of CNN, Reese Schoenfeld, said that without his financial discipline and the quality of his reporter job, CNN wouldn't be in the place it is right now. More, in his opinion, Burt Reinhardt is not only the inventor of a news system that is present in all the successful news stations in the world, but he is the saver for all the people that worked and were dedicated to CNN.
