The battle for the Dominique Strauss-Kahn replacing

After the arrest of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) leader, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the number two on the hierarchy is John Lipsky that will replace for the moment the French leader. But the term of Dominique Strauss-Kahn ends anyway this summer in August and the IMF officials are making official and unofficial calculation. In an official statement of the IMF, Lipsky was already replacing Strauss-Kahn when it was the case and the experience as managing director is a help in facing the post's demands. But the rumors about the next IMF's Chief are that the battle is taken both officially and unofficially. More, if he is decided to go ahead with the decision of the Candidature of the Presidential Election, he will have to quit the Monetary's leadership until July 13, the dead-line for a candidate to be in the race for leading France.

In this case, when the matter is little more complicated because the terms of the New York Police might not be the same with the Presidential elections, in all cases, Dominique Strauss-Kahn will leave the Monetary Fund. The international press is making more and more suppositions about a possible next Chief. The name that was very much spelled is Gordon Brown, the former Great Britain's prime minister. After that, the next name was David Cameron, but the last rumors are speaking about the choices from India, China or South-East Asia. There are sources that are talking about a strong possibility for the Central Indian Bank Governor, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, to be the next IMF's Chief. They think that because his position as a leader of the International Monetary and Financial Committee, the instance that decides the political orientation for IMF. Some people refers to the Turkish former administrator of the United Nation Program for Developing, Kemal Dervis or the former Finance Minister of South Africa, Trevor Manuel.

According to the Reuters reporters, one official from IMF said that "Europe is on fire" after the implications of the Dominique Strauss-Kahn arresting. More, in his opinion, it is a great need for an immediate replacement of the Chief. The Lipsky solution is a very good one, but the concerns that are something temporary are increasing. This is not the first time that Dominique Strauss-Kahn is facing this kind of accusations. Three years ago, he was investigated by the board for an abuse power case with a female economist from IMF. Even though the matter was public, Dominique Strauss-Kahn apologized and said that he made an error in judgment. According to the Reuters reporters, several colleagues of Dominique Strauss-Kahn didn't thought at that time that the French leader will come clean and they have doubts from that moment about his future behavior.
